I bought this dress in June while Brad and I were in Baltimore for a week with his work. We stayed right at the Harbor and there were some shops I spent a lot of time at while he was in was an Indian store called Bombay something or other...they had a lot of really nice dresses and tops. I bought this dress, another sarong type dress and a top. I remember thinking how perfect this dress would be to wear all summer. Today is the first time I've worn it......
When I started picking out my accessories I realized these earrings would be PERFECT for this outfit. I was actually thinking of getting rid of them because I was feeling they didn't match my 'style' ..but now I'm not so sure.....I really do like them a maybe they ARE my 'style'...they are from mark.Avon  a couple years ago...
And this beautiful bracelet I also got at the Bombay store in Baltimore.....
I only wore these regular flip flops for the was a barefoot day....LOL

I'm Baaaaaackk!

Reviving this old blog.
White Top from Walmart-bought it a few years ago and do wear it occasionally.
Olive Jersey Knit Skirt-Hanes, also from Walmart a few years ago.
Sandals- Cato- bought about 4 years ago to wear to a Beach Wedding

Overall I liked this's not a Favorite...but it was comfortable and I felt good in it. Like I said I wear the top occasionally and do like it quite a bit. I also like the skirt...I don't wear it often though. Not sure why. The shoes were meh.....I was considering donating them after today....but now I'm not so sure...they are kinda cute and I could see myself wearing them next summer......

Army Green Striped Sweater-JC Penny-last year.
Black Pants-George(Walmart)-have had these a long time.
Army Green Wedge Loafers-Not Sure, probably Target-had them years.

Sweater Details, Brass buttons on the shoulder.

Over all, I like this outfit. This is the sweater I totally forgot I had because it was shoved way in the back behind all the others. It's actually very comfortable. A little thin, but would be great layered over a long sleeved T-shirt in colder months. I love the pants, haven't worn them in a LONG time but will be definitely wearing them more often. Were almost as comfy as sweats and dressier!! The shoes I didn't end up actually wearing. Hubby and I went out for errands and I wore my fallback Black Dr. Scholls.(They are kinda like Dansko clogs)

What I Wore

Yep..back to posting outfits hopefully. I  have found myself in sweats WAAAYYYYY too much lately. Between living in Wisconsin and just wanting to hibernate come fall, and dealing with my husbands work schedule, I find myself spending way too many days in sweats. Especially the last couple of months. CDR is on the night shift, which means he leaves in the afternoon and comes home early in the morning. I get up about an hour or so later and just throw a t-shirt and sweats on quickly so as not to disturb him too much. Then I stay out of the bedroom until he gets up , which isn't until around 2:00ish or so. By then I feel like why bother changing? Especially since now I'm on a Get Fit kick as well and do my workout right after he leaves for work. I have all these beautiful , cute clothes just sitting in my closet and I'm hardly wearing any of them these days! So THAT has GOT to STOP! I'm not going to do any kind of 'Official" Challenge or anything. We all know how well THOSE go..I manage 3 days and then forget or drop off the face of the earth. So NO promises. But I do plan to start actually getting 'dressed' each day.

Sometimes I think I should do one of those NO SHOPPING challenges, but again I don't really want to commit to anything. I have been shopping MUCH less these days. I don't really feel like I NEED very much anymore. Like I said I have a huge closet FULL of many nice things. I'd like to at least wear some of them before buying more. Yesterday I made the decision to try. I decided what I need to do is pick each outfit the night before and have it all ready outside our bedroom. That way when I'm ready to 'get dressed" (I'm not usually ready to be 'dressed' when I first get up, I like to 'ease' into it) I can without disturbing CDR's sleep.

And it was funny because while I was rooting around in the Closet to find my outfit for today I came across ALL kinds of stuff I totally forgot I had.....some never worn!! Like those little short suede Desert Boots that seem to be in this fall. I was just looking at a few Fashion Blogs earlier in the day and wishing I had a pair. LOW and BEHOLD ..I DO!!!!! I totally forgot that I bought some a couple months ago at Target!! Never even more em yet. They are part of today's outfit. I didn't actually wear them today either as I didn't go anywhere , but I had them out , just in case. And I did wear them for my pic. I also found a sweater I bought last year and only wore once and totally forgot. I Plan to wear it tomorrow. And those were just the tip of the iceburg, I found sooo much more!  So on to today's outfit. I will probably cross post this to my Style Blog. I'll mostly be posting OOTD there but will occasionally cross post them here too.

Pink Cowl Sweater-Old Navy-bought a few years ago. It's hard to see in the pic, but there a front pocket on this , kinda like a sweatshirt. It's super comfy.

Brown Cargo Skirt-Target-recent Goodwill purchase.

Brown Tights-Willow Bay-couple years ago.

Suede Desert Boots-Target-recently.

The tights were actually very uncomfortable, the fit fine in the legs but the panty portion of the tights were too tight and also didn't come all the way to my waist and wanted to roll down. I suffered in them until CDR got up, but then changed to a pair that fit perfectly. Over all the outfit was comfortable and I felt good in it . It still had that slouchy just hanging around the house feel but I looked a little cuter! The shoes only stayed on long enough to take this picture..LOL

Here is what I REALLY wore all day:

Today's Look

It's been ages since I posted my outfits....really need to get back into it. I dress so much better when I'm participating in a Fashion Blog and/or Wardrobe-Remix.

So here's today's Outfit...Earlier in the day I had to make a Menards(think Home Depot, Lowes...etc.)run to pick up some 1/2 in. Sheeting Clips( We are building a house) I wore comfy boots and a heavier gray cardi over the rest of the outfit.

This evening we are heading into Appleton to greet a bunch of WWII Veterans coming home from a trip to DC. One of the Veterans is an old neighbor of the Commander's. He and his wife often took care of him and his siblings when they were younger. His son wanted to get a big group together for the "Homecoming' , so we agreed to come. We'll be greeting them at the Airport. It's also special because Commander was a Submarine Officer in the Navy just like his neighbor that we are greeting.

Off to Church

Here is what I wore to Church this week.....

I got the Brown Floral Dress at Dress Barn for Women a couple of years ago..I've worn it a few times to church....I don't know why I don't wear it more often as I really like how it looks. I always feel pretty in it. One of the reasons I want to do this blog is so I can see what works for me and what doesn't...what I should wear more often and maybe what I should get rid of.

The tights are new from Walmart and of course I'm wearing the NEW Shoes from Friday's Shopping Trip. They are Steve Madden and they were actually REALLY comfortable. I was able to stand in them all thru Mass without them hurting.

The necklace was a Christmas Gift from the hubby. My SIL forced him to go with her and her husband to a Craft Fair. I'm so glad she did, as I like unique pieces like this and I think it goes perfectly with this outfit.

Do Nothing Day

I planned to just sit around in sweats all day...but looking thru today's wardrobe-remixers made me remember that I DO have a few cute knits I could be wearing instead. I'd be just as comfortable as in my sweats or PJ's but actually be 'dressed" I dug this sweaterdress out of my stored stuff box and rummaged around for these old woolish tights.
Gray Top-Not sure, Target I think..

Teal Sweaterdress-Target last year.

Gray striped Tights- I bought these a few years ago. I think they were Target

Stripe socks-crocheted by me.
Turquoise Rose Necklace-New-mark.

Lunch and Shopping

Today I took my daughter to Lunch and out for some Thrift Shopping. We started out by having a nice lunch at Angie's, a cute little family restaurant. The food was good.
At the Thrift store my daughter scored the most awesome Full Length 70's Leather Coat and a cute Sweater/Skirt set. I found a few oversized sweaters that I'll need for my trip to Wisconsin.

We also got some really great shoes today at Marshalls. I got some cute Brown Suede Fringed Short Boots and a cute pair of Ruffled T-Straps( they seem to be all rage right now-I've seen similar ones on all the fashion blogs)

And she got the most awesome Patent Leather Lace-up Sneaker Type Heels from BCBGirls. These are to die for. I wanted to get them myself but I know I could probably never really pull them off. She will soooo Rock them though( and she said I can borrow them if I want...LOL)

What I Wore Today

Today was pretty much a lazy hang around the house day. I was tempted to just shlepp around in my sweats, but in lieu of this blogs new direction, decided to fix myself up just a little. It's still a very 'relaxed " casual look. I've taken to sitting around in sweats too often lately. I always swore I would never be one of THOSE women...and here the last few months( ok who AM I kidding....Years) I've fallen into a rut of wearing either sweats or pajamas all day. Now granted , at least I never go out in public like that( does the Mailbox count?) ..If I have plans for the day...errands..appointments..or such I will at least dress like I did today if not nicer.

The Teal top I bought last year from avon...

The gray sweater is from Old Navy bought two years ago.

The jeans are Levi Signature. I own several pair, I live in them.

The Shoes are also Old Navy, a few years old. I love them and they go with just about anything..very comfortable too.

and Rose and Locket Necklaces are New from mark. This is one of my favorite pieces lately. It also comes in Aqua with a Silvertone chain and locket.

A New Direction

I've decided to take this blog in a new direction. The Photo Blog was starting to get a little redundant as I'm particpating in a 365 Project on Flickr that I post my daily pics on. I love Fashion and Style and think I have unique style of my own , although it's ever changing. I particpate in wardrobe-remix over at flickr but I'd like to do more with this blog. Posting about what I like to wear and all things involved with looking my best. Lately I haven't really been taking the best care of myself on a daily basis , so I'm hoping this blog will inspire me to try a little harder.
